I've always said that I consider Alabang as "Out of town" for me. Which is funny because, if I leave at off peak hours, I can get there in about less than an hour. However, it isn't just the distance that makes Alabang feel like a whole new world.. It's also the environment of Filinvest Business Park. For me, its reminiscent to Bonifacio Global City, where it's clearly bustling, with new establishments sprouting left and right, but a high standard of cleanliness is maintained, making it conducive for brisk afternoon walks (usually to other restaurants hehe).
I have had the fortunate opportunity to experience three rather excellent hotels in Alabang, namely Bellevue, Crimson and Acacia Hotel. However, there was one more hotel in the Alabang area that Rina and had yet to have the pleasure of staying at-, and that was the Vivere Hotel.
All that changed during the final leg of Sugar & Spice's Birthday weekend, where the Queen of the South once again graciously tagged my family along for a Staycation at Vivere Hotel!
Vivere actually has a very special place in my heart, because the very first food review I ever wrote was for their restaurant at the top floor. this was in the early 2000's, for my cousins' paper, Voice of The South. Back then, Vivere and Bellevue were the only hotels establishments that were duking it out for guests. However, it was through their relentless efforts that helped Alabang carve a name for itself as a viable location for international and local tourist alike. Their efforts helped pave the way for the growth of other hotels and commercial establishments as well.
The lobby looked as I remembered it, A beautiful rock garden greetings guests that enter the hotel, setting the tone for what we hope would be a relaxing stay.
Vivere Hotel houses 200 rooms, that spans over 31 floors. The variety of rooms remind me of a condo, ranging from Studio types to even a three bedroom loft! To ensure safety, floors are equipped with security locks in which only residents with key cards of the assigned floor may enter.
THE REGAL SUITE
My family was billeted in a two bed room condo-like suite, which was dubbed, "The Regal Suite". The lovely 73 square meter room was more than enough for me, Rina, Rain and Yaya Laynie. The room has a mini dining room that can comfortably seat four.
And a spacious living room equipped with a cozy sofa and lounge chair. perfect place to relax with a series marathon.
The huge picture window that gave you a gorgeous view of the growing Filinvest City was the perfect place for me to take my "50 Shades" picture.
The room has two bedrooms, with the "Masters" not much bigger than the second bed room, with the most glaring advantage being that it has a bathroom, while the "guest" room tenant would have to use the communal bathroom
The Masters bedroom is equipped with a 32 inch Flat Screen TV, and also has a desk and high back computer chair, which I feel makes the already modest sized room a little bit too cramped.
The Masters Bed room bathroom has a sexy glass divider and a bathtub. RAWR.
As mentioned the guest room is similar in size to the Master's however without a view of Filinvest City, or a bathroom. However since it doesn't have a computer desk, it seems more spacious.
A communal bathroom is near the guest bedroom for easy access. However it doesn't have a bathtub, but it does have that rainshower shower head that I love.
KIDS CLUB
With its wide selection of toys and play sets, I think it's safe to say that Baby Rain had loads of fun at Vivere's Kids Club!
LAMA POOL
Going to the Lama Pool of Vivere was rather odd, because you kinda need to go through the parking lot in order to get to it. Which was awfully strange, because I distinctly remember back in 2003, when I did my food review, the swimming pool was located at the roof deck.
THE NEST
Apparently, my memories wasn't wrong. The swimming pool at the Roof Deck is still there. although it's now its presence is only for aesthetic purposes, and makes the allure of The Nest, Vivere's roof deck restaurant, even more exciting.
I couldn't wait to get started on breakfast!! Everything looked so good!!
If you want to start things off slow, then you may begin with some juice and assorted types of
bread and cereals.
French Toast with various types of syrups await!
You may also choose from a selection of dimsums, with the Pork Siomai easily my favorite!
Their Longaniza was delicious, especially with their runny scrambled eggs, infused with roasted garlic, for a nice, fragrant kick.
Breakfast is never complete without Bacon, right?
I think it was only fitting that I bumped into the man that took me to Vivere the first time, my cousin Jo of Voice of the South!
Having breakfast 31 floors up was quite a wonderful experience, especially if you get a table near the edge
For some reason, I wasn't expecting very much from Vivere. Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised with their accommodations, with the condo atmosphere giving off a more "Homey" feel.
It's nice to see the South continue to blossom as a destination for tourists, and Vivere Hotel is definitely a hotel that one should consider, whether it be as a tourist or a local guest, looking for a staycation away from the hustle and bustle of life, without having to travel too far.
