COCINA PERUVIA OPENS AT THE PODIUM MALL

From the moment I tried Cocina Peruvia three years ago, I was absolutely blown away by Peruvian food. This was my first foray into the cuisine that for the past few years, seems to have taken the world by storm, and I instantly became a fan.

It was nice to see that others seemed to have taken to Peruvian cuisine as well, as Cocina Peruvia opened two more branches since, including one at Vertis North and most recently, The Podium Mall.

EAST MEETS WEST AT PING PONG DIPLOMACY

The moment I heard that the restaurant "Ping Pong Diplomacy" would be opening up in SM Aura Premier, I was ecstatic for two simple reasons:

#1 I'm a huge fan of Chinese food
                                                       &
#2 I'm a huge fan of Chef Him Uy De Baron.

I've tried Chef Him's take on Japanese Ramen and Korean Bibimbaps, and both times he blew me away. I had an eerie feeling that his take on Chinese-American fusion food would be no different.. And BOY was I right.

I AM KIM: BAPS SO GOOD, YOU'LL FORGET YOUR NAME

Chef Him Uy De Baron is perhaps one of the most Avante Garde Chefs in the country today. To Chef Him, it never seems to be just about creating delectable dishes that will take your taste buds for a ride. Chef Him also takes pride in creating a unique dining experience for his customers unlike any other that they've had before. In a country where Ramen restaurants are popping up left and right, all claiming to have the most authentic recipe, this side of Japan, Chef Him boldly conceptualized "Nomama", an artisanal ramen restaurant, wherein his concoctions where limited only by his imagination.

If Ramen was the spotlight of Nomama, Chef Him's latest concept, I Am Kim, focuses on his fascination with the Korean staple, Bibimbap. However, what I am Kim does is take the dish to dazzling new heights, and open your eyes up to a world of possibilities that this one dish can offer.
