THE SUNDAY BRUNCH SERIES: SAGE BESPOKE GRILL
I've always enjoyed dining at the various restaurants at Makati Shangri-la, however there was one that had eluded me since it opened.. Sage Bespoke Grill. For one reason or another, I would always miss out on the food events they would hold.
Luck would finally be on my side, when Sage launched their new Sunday Brunch, featuring an all new menu by Chef Eric Weidmann!

CIRCLES' BUTCHERS MARKET: A CARNIVORE'S DREAM!
Makati Shangri-la Hotel recently unveiled their new dining concept for the popular Circles Restaurant. Every night of the week offers a different "Market Theme", giving you new and exciting, not to mention interactive dining choices every time you visit. When my friends from Makat Shangri-la asked me which concept I would like to try, it took me all of two seconds telling them my choice.
Seriously, it wasn't even close.
So one amazing Tuesday night, I headed over to Circles in Makati Shangri-la to do a little "Shopping" at The Butcher's Market!

TAKE YOUR #SINFULLYSELFIE & WIN PRIZES FROM MAKATI SHANGRI-LA!
I don't take very many "Selfies", unless it's with food. FNothing against people that do, but personally, I can never seem to frame my face perfectly into the shot, so I usually get half of my face or something like that. Not to mention, in the scope of things, I don't think I'm good looking enough to make a "Selfie" a constant part of my Instagram feed. I'm not putting myself down, i'm just, as those youngsters say, "Keeping it Real" (Do they still say that?).
But if you told me that my selfies could win a Chocolate Buffet from a Five star Hotel, then i'll be Selfie friggin Master! A Chocolate Buffet? My selfies would make Kim Kardashian look like a recluse!
Well, in honor of International Chocolate Day, Makati Shangri-la has issued us a challenge for a chance to win so amazing prizes.
Are you up for it? I know I am!

THE TANTALIZING TREASURES OF TURKEY AT MAKATI SHANGRI-LA
Another good thing about becoming a food blogger, is how it expanded my horizons when it comes to different cuisines. Yes, I still am rather picky when it comes to what I eat, but I am given opportunities to sample dishes from the far reaches of the globe that wouldn't be too accessible to me in the past.
Turkish cuisine is definitely something new to me, as I don't really have Mediterranean food often, but I was nonetheless intrigued when I was invited to a special luncheon hosted by Makati Shangri-la, as they unveiled some of the dishes that would be part of their "Treasures of Turkey" section of Circles Buffet.

“My culinary philosophy is to cook from the heart.”
Chef Anthony Dong
When a chef thinks this way, you know you're in for a delicious treat! This is Chef Anthony Dong. And he is Futian Shangri-la Shenzen's Executive Chef that holds the title of Honorary Deputy Professor of Food and Beverage Management at Far East University Tainan, and a gold medalist in the National Innovative Cooking Competition in Shenzen. Long story short, he's big in Shenzen! That's why Makati Shangri-La is very proud to have him here as their guest chef for one week to cook his heart out featuring Huaiyang Cuisine at Shang Palace for Filipinos to try!

YEE SANG TRADITION: GOOD LUCK, PROSPERITY, AND HEALTH!
.jpg)
If you're as clueless as I was about Chinese traditions, then you probably also have no idea what Yee Sang is. It was only last Tuesday that I learned about this tradition during a lunch at Shang Palace in Makati Shangrila for sort of a pre-Chinese New Year lunch. (Thank you to the people of Makati Shangrila for inviting us!)
