THE 14TH BITE: MCDONALD'S SPICY BUFFALO STYLE CHICKEN MCDO
Before I start, I want to get this out in the open. Although I'm flattered that people suggested it, I'm not an endorser of McDonald's. I'm just what you would call a "Super Fan". I believe you need to have a certain level of popularity for McDonald's to get you as an endorser, and I don't think i'm anywhere near the required vicinity.
Apparently, the video i made for the Spicy Buffalo Chicken McDo turned out to be quite controversial, because as it turns out, customers either hated it or loved it. And those that hated it, seemed to do so with a fiery passion that would make the spiciness of the chicken seem like honey by comparison.
Someone sent me a message saying "Maasim and parang ligyan lang ng Hot Sauce (Tabasco)!" (Translation: "It's sour and tastes like they just added Tabasco to it". Umm.. I'm no chef but I think the sauce is made with Vinegar and.. wait for it.. Tabasco. Perhaps from the picture, they were expecting Hickory BBQ or something like that?
There were those who ordered and simply said, "I didn't like it, I wouldn't order it again". And there were those who hurled curses at me... over a piece of chicken 😂 (Talk about serious issues 😂).
Those who enjoyed it, seemed to know what to expect from the flavor profile of Buffalo sauce. The acid and heat agreed with their palate.

MCDONALD'S NEW DOUBLE CHOCO CRUMBLE HOTCAKES!
You hear it time and time again.. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. For someone who LOVES bacon Breakfast Food as much as I do, it's kind of ironic that I don't usually my first meal until lunch time. It's a bad habit that I've been trying to shake, and thankfully McDonald's Philippines made it a lot easier for me to start my day right, with it's newest breakfast offering..

MCDONALD'S NEW SMOKY CHEESEBURGER
In case you haven't realized it yet, but I'm a McDonald's Junkie. It's my go-to comfort food ever since I was a child. Living in Cebu for a great deal of my younger years, and this was at a time when the most popular burger available was from a chain called "Orange Brutus" (don't ask), whenever my mom or dad would fly back to Cebu from Manila, a Big Mac was always the requested "Pasalubong". Whenever they have a new product, I'm usually the first to know or hear about it.
This happened with The Big N' Tasty. Then The McRib. Then The McGriddles.
Don't ask why or how, but it's like I have a sixth sense for all things pertaining to McDonald's.
Which is why I was rather taken aback when Rina called me up to ask if I wanted the new Smoky Cheeseburger while she was at the drive thru on her way home.
Of course I said, yes, but deep in my mind, I was shocked that this got past me.. But I ended up feeling loads better when I saw that it was only announced that day on Facebook as well, meaning I wasn't losing my touch hehe..
Nonetheless, I couldn't wait to try it so I could give you guys my thoughts on McDonald's newest offering!

LENTEN SPECIAL: MCDONALD'S DOUBLE FILLET-O-FISH!
I've always said, If there was a McDonald's in Cebu (Where I lived as a child) back in the 80's, I wouldn't have been such a pain in my Yaya's ass every Friday during the Lenten season. I credit McDonald's Fillet-o-Fish for helping me see fish in a different light. Prior to trying the Fillet-O-Fish, I did not eat fish at all.
You see, as a child growing up as a carnivore, I would fear the Lenten season. My mom would explain to me the importance of making that small sacrifice every Friday, but as a stubborn not to mention, Picky little kid, it was difficult for me to grasp that I had to be deprived of meat for one day a week.
Now, I breathe a sigh of relief knowing that in case I need a seafood dish, I have the Fillet-O-Fish as my go-to meal. Since it's a bit lighter than your usual McDonald's Beef Burgers, I sometimes feel like I can finish two of them in one sitting.. Although I must admit, out of sheer guilt, I never tried.
But I would always think to myself, "How awesome would it be if McDonald's released a "DOUBLE FILLET-O-FISH", that is perfect for heavy eaters like me?".
Fittingly, an alleluia is called for, because McDonald's Philippines just released the Double Fillet-O-Fish for the Lenten Season!
