LOVE WEEKENDZZZ EVEN MORE WITH MCDONALD'S DELIVERY!

Although you see me going out to eat a lot, one thing you should know about me is that I'm really a homebody. I don't need to go out to have fun and enjoy my time with my family and friends. I'm perfectly fine staying home, and inviting them over to go on a Netflix Marathon or watch a big event on TV and the like.

And usually, instead of going through the hassle of preparing the food, Rina always find it much more convenient to have our food delivered. The funny thing is, whenever Rina asks where I want food delivered from, the default answer is usually McDelivery!

THE 14TH BITE: MCDONALD'S SPICY BUFFALO STYLE CHICKEN MCDO

Before I start, I want to get this out in the open. Although I'm flattered that people suggested it, I'm not an endorser of McDonald's. I'm just what you would call a "Super Fan". I believe you need to have a certain level of popularity for McDonald's to get you as an endorser, and I don't think i'm anywhere near the required vicinity.

Apparently, the video i made for the Spicy Buffalo Chicken McDo turned out to be quite controversial, because as it turns out, customers either hated it or loved it. And those that hated it, seemed to do so with a fiery passion that would make the spiciness of the chicken seem like honey by comparison.

Someone sent me a message saying "Maasim and parang ligyan lang ng Hot Sauce (Tabasco)!" (Translation: "It's sour and tastes like they just added Tabasco to it". Umm.. I'm no chef but I think the sauce is made with Vinegar and.. wait for it.. Tabasco. Perhaps from the picture, they were expecting Hickory BBQ or something like that?

There were those who ordered and simply said, "I didn't like it, I wouldn't order it again". And there were those who hurled curses at me... over a piece of chicken 😂 (Talk about serious issues 😂).

Those who enjoyed it, seemed to know what to expect from the flavor profile of Buffalo sauce. The acid and heat agreed with their palate.

MCDONALD'S NEW DOUBLE CHOCO CRUMBLE HOTCAKES!

You hear it time and time again.. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. For someone who LOVES bacon Breakfast Food as much as I do, it's kind of ironic that I don't usually my first meal until lunch time. It's a bad habit that I've been trying to shake, and thankfully McDonald's Philippines made it a lot easier for me to start my day right, with it's newest breakfast offering..

MCDONALD'S NEW SMOKY CHEESEBURGER

In case you haven't realized it yet, but I'm a McDonald's Junkie. It's my go-to comfort food ever since I was a child. Living in Cebu for a great deal of my younger years, and this was at a time when the most popular burger available was from a chain called "Orange Brutus" (don't ask), whenever my mom or dad would fly back to Cebu from Manila, a Big Mac was always the requested "Pasalubong".  Whenever they have a new product, I'm usually the first to know or hear about it.

This happened with The Big N' Tasty. Then The McRib. Then The McGriddles

Don't ask why or how, but it's like I have a sixth sense for all things pertaining to McDonald's.

Which is why I was rather taken aback when Rina called me up to ask if I wanted the new Smoky Cheeseburger while she was at the drive thru on her way home.

Of course I said, yes, but deep in my mind, I was shocked that this got past me.. But I ended up feeling loads better when I saw that it was only announced that day on Facebook as well, meaning I wasn't losing my touch hehe..

Nonetheless, I couldn't wait to try it so I could give you guys my thoughts on McDonald's newest offering!

THE MCGRIDDLES ARE NOW IN THE PHILIPPINES!

I still remember the morning after I arrived at the United States. I had a whole slew of restaurants that I intended to invade, and I couldn't wait to make my way through that list. A lot of those places were restaurants I found in Man V. Food and other food shows I'm obsessed with but, but for some reason, the first thing I wanted to try was a McGriddle from McDonald's.

Thankfully there was a McDonald's 5 minutes away from my Uncle's place where we were staying at Laguna Niguel, in Southern California, so my brother and I made the quick drive, first thing the following morning of our arrival.

What makes the McGriddle rather unique is the way the "Griddle Cakes"- which serve as the sandwich buns-, have the maple syrup baked into it, giving the cake a tinge of sweetness that goes well with whatever savory filling you choose.

I really enjoyed the McGriddle, and I must have gone back for one at least four or five other times during my 5 weeks in the United States. My mentality was to enjoy it as much as I can, because I highly doubted that the McGriddle would ever be available in the Philippines anytime soon.

      I was wrong.

I'm proud to announce that the McGriddle is now available for breakfast at selected outlets here in the Philippines!

MCDONALD'S MCRIB IS NOW IN THE PHILIPPINES!

Everyone knows that I'm a burger fanatic, right? And I never hid the fact that I'm a big fan of McDonald's. Back in 1998, I was in a trip with my cousins, and we did a tour of United States. During one of our stopovers, I was so famished that I decided to grab something from the nearest McDonald's to tide me over till dinner time. It was then that I tried the somewhat mythical "McRib".

I say "Mythical" because it never stays in the menu for very long. Much like a Unicorn, everyone talks about how beautiful and wonderful it is, but no one can actually seem to grab a hold of it. I recall going back to McDonald's a few days later and to much my utter disappointment, discovering that it was gone. I swore to my cousins that I was with that it was true.

Whenever we would talk about the McRib, I would drift off, and tell a tale of love found, and then lost in a one fleeting moment. I asked myself, when would I be able to hold that delectable sandwich in my hands again.. Maybe it was never meant to be.. Or maybe it was just a dream.

Well it's time to wake up and smell the BBQ Sauce!

I'm writing to you with tears in my eyes, and I am proud to announce that the McRib is finally available in the Philippines!!!!

*UPDATED* MCDONALDS BACON BURGERS ARE HERE.. AND THE STORES THAT HAVE IT !

I was hard at work yesterday morning (or was it "Hardly working"?), when I got a picture message from Rina over WeChat.

There was no accompanying caption to it. Just the image you see above. Within seconds, I was frantically fumbling with my phone, trying to call Rina. She answered the phone, saying "15...16! Haha I was counting how long it would take you to call me after you saw the picture.. A total of 16 seconds!". I told her that it would probably have been around just 8 seconds if my fingers weren't so fat.

But I got down to business. I asked her if what she sent was real. And she said, "I just passed by McDonald's Glorietta right now where I saw the sign, so YES, I can safely say it's real." I hung up the phone and looked at the time. It was around 11:30am. There was no way that I was going to wait for the Emerald Avenue lunch rush.

I asked my officemate Mimai, "What are you doing?" and she said, "I'm just finishing the-"'

      "No you're not", I interrupted.

She looked at me quizzically and said, "Okaay.. So what am I doing?"

"You're going with me to have lunch", I said, in a deadpan voice. She looked at her watch, and had a curious look on her face. It was that moment that I showed her the picture that Rina sent me. Within three seconds of her eyes meeting the photo, Mimai was digging into her bag for her wallet.

Let's face it.. How many people have taken a bite out of their McDonald's Quarter Pounder, or Cheeseburger, or Double Cheeseburger, and wondered to yourself how much better it would be with bacon?

Well, my friends, Yes, This is Real. McDonald's Burgers have got a new Crunch.

Introducing McDonald's new Bacon and Cheese Quarter Pounder, Bacon Cheeseburger, and Bacon McDouble.

THE MCSPICY IS HERE!

As I write this, I am thinking of a couple of friends of mine who will be thrilled with the news that I am about to announce. These friends of mine enjoy spicy food a lot. Back when we were still working at the same office, I would recall them always ordering the spiciest chicken item on the delivery menu. (Yes I’m talking about you Farrah, G, and Marjo!) And so I am happy to tell them that our favourite default fast food restaurant has added a new item on their menu, and it is spiced up really really nice!

Presenting, the new McDonald’s McSpicy!

Yes! The New McSpicy Chicken Burger which has been spotted in Austrailia, Singapore, Hong Kong, etc. has finally reached the Pearl of the Orient Seas! I was lucky to be one of the first to try this hot burger last Tuesday for a Media Launch.

QUICK PICK: MCDONALD'S BIG N' TASTY

A "Quick Pick" is a post about specific item(s) from an establishment.

Thats what she said.

I'm a McDonald's addict. I'm not going to deny it. There was a time that I would eat Mcdonald's at least once a day for around two weeks. I honestly wouldn't recommend anyone else to do that, but when you live on your own and have no culinary skills whatsoever, desperate times call for desperate measures.

Those were the days that I came up with the RichieZ Quarter Pounder and my Sausage McMuffin Breakfast Quirk.

The surprising thing is that after all these years, I would still easily choose McDonald's as my go-to meal. My work friends have already stopped asking me where I wanna go for lunch because they know what I'm going to answer.

A ritual I have when eating Mcdonald's is that I cannot eat ANY of their burgers WITHOUT pouring in some of the BBQ Sauce of the Chicken Nuggets. It was to the point where in I would stash some extra BBQ Sauce in my ref, in the even that I end up forgetting to order it during delivery.

The other night, during a McDonald's dinner run with some of my officemates, I saw a sign that caught my attention.

It was for a Burger called "Big N' Tasty".

XIAN LIM & MCDONALD'S MCFLOAT SUMMER MEDLEY

For the record, Youtube chose the thumbnail, not me.

I actually don't know who this Xian Lim guy is except from my friend that talks about him a lot on Twitter (Hehe you know who you are). But apparently he's popular enough to get a contract from McDonald's as the endorser for the "McFloat Summer Medley" Line up. (Funny,no? I knew who Dino Ferrari was straight away, and this guy who's on Philippine TV everyday, I had no clue who he is) But it's clear that he's extremely popular, and the ladies love him.

The McFloats come in Four different flavors to choose from.. Blueberry Sprite McFloat, Four Seasons Sprite McFloat, Green Apple Sprite McFloat and Honey Banana Sprite McFloat.

I normally refrain from writing about food items that I haven't tried, and truth be told, I haven't tried any of the McFloats yet, (although the people I work with have tried the Blueberry and Four Seasons and enjoyed it, while i'm intrigued by the Honey Banana) I decided to write about this, not because of the items, but because of the commercial, in which the post production was done by the company I work for.
