COOKING FOR MY QUEEN WITH LEE KUM KEE

May is a very special month for my wife, Rina, because not only is it her birth month,
but it’s Mother’s Day as well. She takes her role as a mother incredibly seriously, and I can safely say
that she is the best mother I could have asked for my daughter to have. Given all that she does for me
and our daughter, I thought of perhaps preparing something nice for her for dinner.

Since I usually spring for dinner at a restaurant, I thought it would be more meaningful if I prepared
something for her myself! I asked her sister for some tips of the simple dishes that Rina loves, and she
suggested one of her favorite fish dishes, Steamed Tilapia in Oyster Sauce.

Given that I had just come from the grocery and had some of the necessary Lee Kum Kee ingredients
in my pantry, I thought to myself, “Challenge Accepted”!

Apart from the fish (of course), the three critical ingredients that would make the magic happen,
the first being Lee Kum Kee’s Oyster Sauce, an all purpose seasoning sauce that would serve as
the ideal marinade for our fish, setting the foundation for the flavor profile of our dish.
The second is the Lee Kum Kee Premium Soy Sauce, that is known for its rich aroma and taste,
which adds more vibrance and depth to the fish.

The third is the Lee Kum Kee Sesame Oil, which is known to help accentuate the natural flavor of
the fish.

After making sure I had these three components, I knew I was good to go!

For the dish, We needed:

2 Whole Tilapias (cleaned, Butterflied)
1 Red Onion
1 Lemon
Ginger
Garlic Cloves

Spring Onions

Salt and Pepper for Seasoning

3 Table Spoons of Lee Kum Kee Oyster Sauce
2 Table Spoons of Lee Kum Kee Soy Sauce

1 Table Spoon of Lee Kum Kee Sesame Oil

Measurements may vary depending on the size of the fish.

Mince the Onions, Garlic, Ginger, Garlic and Spring Onions, into one bowl,
and squeeze the lemon juice into it.

Mix the Lee Kum Kee Oyster Sauce, Premium Soy Sauce, and Sesame Oil into the bowl.

Mix all the ingredients thoroughly

Lay the fish on foil, then stuff them with the Oyster Sauce Mixture. Keep any excess Sauce.

Gently place the fish into a foil lined steamer, and pour the excess sauce over the it.

Steam for around 20 minutes

Place on a platter, and pour over the steamed oil that the fish was bathed in.

Add more minced Spring onions for Garnishing.. And You’re done! Simple as that! Amazingly flavorful, without being overly indulgent! The Lee Kum Oyster sauce, Premium Soy Sauce and Sesame Oil undoubtedly took the fish to a whole new level of delicious! Talagang Level Up Sarap!

Although this was supposed to be a “practice run” for her birthday,
Rain was so excited with what “we” made (she helped pour the ingredients into the bowl),
she accidentally told her mom we cooked for her. Once Rina caught a whiff of the mouth-watering
aroma from the fish and the oyster sauce, she couldn’t resist asking for a bite!

A phenomenal dish made easy with Lee Kum Kee Sauces and seasonings!
