TAKE YOUR #SINFULLYSELFIE & WIN PRIZES FROM MAKATI SHANGRI-LA!

I don't take very many "Selfies", unless it's with food. FNothing against people that do, but personally, I can never seem to frame my face perfectly into the shot, so I usually get half of my face or something like that. Not to mention, in the scope of things, I don't think I'm good looking enough to make a "Selfie" a constant part of my Instagram feed. I'm not putting myself down, i'm just, as those youngsters say, "Keeping it Real" (Do they still say that?).

But if you told me that my selfies could win a Chocolate Buffet from a Five star Hotel, then i'll be Selfie friggin Master! A Chocolate Buffet? My selfies would make Kim Kardashian look like a recluse!

Well, in honor of International Chocolate Day, Makati Shangri-la has issued us a challenge for a chance to win so amazing prizes.

Are you up for it? I know I am!

THE BEAUTY OF BOHOL: BELLEVUE RESORT

I have an embarrassing confession to make. Despite the fact that I lived in Cebu for nearly ten years, I had never been to the beautiful island of Bohol. Strange, huh? It's a short "Super Cat" ride away, but still, I had yet to lay a foot on Bohol soil.

When a 7.2 Earthquake struck Bohol last October of 2013, I, like all my fellow Filipinos was horrified at the aftermath. It was painful to see the terrifying images on the news of the casualties. And seeing the structures that had made Bohol the popular tourist attraction it has been for decades crumble in a matter of seconds was heart wrenching. I was also saddened to hear that the beloved Chocolate Hills was damaged.. Especially since I had yet to see it in all its splendor. Nonetheless I remained confident that the resilient people of Bohol would rise to the challenge, and make sure their beautiful island paradise bounces back to become even better than it once was before.

Still, I couldn't help but feel a huge tinge of regret about taking for granted the close proximity of Bohol to Cebu. However, you have to understand.. Cebu is also known for its beaches, and I had easy access to a beach resort growing up.. Making the need to travel to Bohol pretty much unnecessary.

Just less than a year later, I finally had an opportunity to visit Bohol. If I had let my chance to see the beauty of Bohol slip by when I was a younger, I wasn't going to let the same thing happen to me when I was older.. And not to mention my daughter, Rain, has proven to be quite the Beach Baby.

Not to mention, I would be absolutely insane to miss out on staying at one of the finest premiere luxury resorts that Bohol has to offer.. Bellevue Resort, Bohol.

SWEET BITES BY BIANCA ~RinaZ

sweet bites by bianca

There's something about home-based baked goodies that make it more delicious than corporate brands. Well, the answer is pretty simple. The big difference is it's made with love. The taste becomes very hearty. Like a warm hearty soup on a rainy day. It hits that sweet craving spot on! And Sweet Bites by Bianca is no different.

GET CURRIED AWAY AT ERI CURRY!

I really enjoy Japanese Curry. Truthfully, I enjoy Curry in general, whether it be Thai or Indian, but I find the heat of Japanese Curry the most manageable for my taste buds, not to mention, without it upsetting my stomach at the same time hehe.

I was elated to discover that a Japanese Curry House recently opened at the SM Mega Atrium. But more than anything, it was the concept of that Curry house that appealed to me most. A Curry place that lets you customize practically everything about your dish order, to the point that the only thing that seems to be lacking is the option to choose the color of your own plate.

Friends, prepared to get Curried Away at Eri Curry!

OF GATECRASHERS & LOOTBAGGERS

As a blogger myself, I get personally annoyed when I hear about unscrupulous bloggers that find ways to take advantage of establishment owners and resort to desperate tactics, such as gate crash events, then DEMAND for GC's and free meals after.

You'd think it would be simple enough concept.. If you're not invited to the event, don't go to it. Trying to Jedi Mind Trick your way inside only works in the movies. (I tried it on my prom date.. It really doesn't work)

I honestly try to keep my hands out of the politics in the Philippine blogging world, but I think it's time I took a stand. After hearing about a recent incident, I have decided that enough is enough and it's time to tell you all how I feel.

BENTO BOXES BY KESSAKU - RinaZ

kessaku alabang

The South is truly booming with a lot of great restaurants. So we come from the other side of town, Richie and I make it a point try to find a restaurant in the Alabang/Paranaque/Las Pinas area that we could visit, that would make our traffic filled ride worth our while. Thankfully, we found another restaurant we could add to our list in Kessaku, a restaurant that serves delicious Japanese food, including complete and filling bento box meals available for lunch!

THE YUMMY THAT IS YUMI -RinaZ

yumi japanese restaurant

If you're a follower of this blog, then you know all about Richie's travels around California a few months ago. Like you, I too watched in envy as he would post delicious dishes from the U.S.A.. So when we got an invitation to visit Yumi Japanese Restaurant in Greenhills Promenade, I decided to go alone and give him a taste of his own medicine, and show him what he was missing back home.

Much to my delight, I discovered that Yumi serves beautifully plated Japanese dishes. But more than just being visually stunning, the dishes were of course delicious!

SAY ALOHA TO TEDDY'S BIGGER BURGERS IN GREENBELT!

Did I ever mention that I used to live in Hawaii? This was around 1981, so I was a very young boy. I must admit, I don't have very vivid memories about the joys of living there, but I do remember it being a taste of paradise. I was fortunate enough to go back in 1998, and it was even more amazing than what I remembered (Especially since I could appreciate seeing beautiful women rollerblading around the mall in a bikini hehe).

My experience there makes me believe that, should I ever decide to leave my home country, one of the places I would first consider living in, would be Hawaii. Think about it.. It's got the best of both worlds! You have the beauty of the tropics, without fully losing the coolness of the temperate zones.

As I continue to dream about my return to Hawaii some day, I was elated to find that a part of Hawaii is arriving in our country soon.. And in even better news, it's going to be in the form of one of my favorite things in the universe.. Burgers!

Teddy's Bigger Burgers, voted the Best Burger in Hawaii by Honolulu Magazine, is opening its first branch in the Philippines on August 23!
