Ministry of Commerce Thailand Promotes Thai Rice in the Philippines, Strengthening Bilateral Trade



The Department of Foreign Trade (DFT), Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, in collaboration with the Thai Rice Exporters Association and the Thai Trade Center in Manila, organized the Thai Rice Market Promotion Event at Mango Tree Restaurant (a Thai restaurant certified with the Thai SELECT award), Bonifacio High Street Central. The event, presided over by Mrs. Chanintorn Rimcharone,Deputy Director-General from the DFT, showcased the unique qualities of Thai rice and its growing appeal among Filipino consumers.





The event aimed to raise awareness and appreciation of Thai rice through engaging presentations and immersive culinary experience. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about the distinctive characteristics, nutritional benefits, and culinary versatility of Thai rice, highlighting it’s a high-quality choice for both home kitchens and the food service industry in the Philippines.



A major highlight of the event was a live cooking demonstration led by skilled Thai chefs, who prepared a selection of authentic Thai dishes using premium Thai rice. Guests were impressed by the chefs’ expertise and enjoyed the flavorful dishes, which demonstrated how Thai rice can be seamlessly incorporated into everyday meals. The interactive format allowed participants to experience the taste, texture, and diverse applications of Thai rice firsthand.





Mrs. Chanintorn Rimcharone, Deputy Director-General of DFT, stated, “This event is part of our ongoing initiative to promote the excellence of Thai rice and enhance our agricultural partnership with the Philippines. We are encouraged by the warm reception from Filipino consumers and remain committed to expanding awareness and accessibility of Thai rice in this key market.”



The Thai Rice Market Promotion Event reaffirmed Thailand’s dedication to strengthening its rice export sector and deepening engagement with international markets. It also laid the foundation for continued collaboration and cultural exchange through the shared appreciation of food.
