SOME FOWL PLAY AT FOWL BREAD!

I'm always excited when the Tasteless Group comes up with a new food concept! Perhaps one of the most avant-garde restaurant concept groups in the country today The Tasteless Group recently opened yet another new restaurant called "FowlBread" at Bonifacio High Street, whose specialty is delicious Fried Chicken Sandwiches!

But like I said, this is the Tasteless Group, so you can be rest assured that this is a Fried Chicken Sandwich unlike any you've ever had before!

AN EARLY EASTER AT F1 HOTEL MANILA AND MORE PROMOS!

F1 Hotel Manila will always have a very special place in my heart. Why? Simply because it was the very first hotel to invite Rina and I to a staycation! We've been over there numerous times, and considering we celebrate practically every major holiday there, The KTG considers it as our second home. Recently, we got an invitation to have an early Easter Celebration there, to see some of the fun things F1 Hotel has to offer this summer, with a kick off this Holy Week!

BON APETIT! NOSTALGIA LOUNGE'S FRENCH CLASSICS AT OAKWOOD!

Whenever I get invited to eat at Oakwood Premier Joy~Nostalg Center Manila (It's a mouthful, I know) I'm always on the edge of my seat. I've dined at The Nostalgia Lounge numerous times before, and it hasn't failed me yet. From an Indonesian food showcase to the Dinner Classics, I have no doubt in my mind that Oakwood's Executive Chef, Chef Jerome Cartailler, will take our taste buds for a gastronomic adventure.

After trying his takes on different cuisines in the past, I was ecstatic to be invited to try his limited time only Nostalgia Weeks French Classics Menu at Nostalgia Lounge!

MARCO POLO'S MARCH MADNESS: 7 DAY WEEKDAY CRAZE!

I'm gonna just say it. Marco Polo's Cucina has one of the best buffet spreads in Metro Manila. Admittedly, they won't wow you with an abundance of selections, but let's face it.. How many dishes do you actually eat in a buffet any way? What Marco Polo does is provide a satisfying amount of choices of different cuisines, each of which will most assuredly blow your taste buds away.

If you're never been to Cucina, then this is the best time for you to visit, because Marco Polo has launched a new series of themes for everyday of that week, including a Week Day Craze promo that gives diners an amazing discount from Monday to Thursday!

THE ULTIMATE K-STYLE CHICKEN CRAVING AT BONCHON!

My (not-so-little) Rain just finished her exam week so last Saturday we took her for a Rain’s Day Out. Nothing extravagant, just a simple day at the mall for lunch, and shopping for Rain’s “Moving Up Day” dress. (Can you believe how fast time flies??? Rain is going to be Kindergarten 2 next year!! *Manly tears*) Anyway, I was tasked to choose where to have our lunch (As always). And since I’ve been craving for some K-style chicken lately, you know, that type that makes a loud crunch with its glaze skin coating with every bite? I already knew where I wanted to go: BonChon!

MCDONALD'S NEW SMOKY CHEESEBURGER

In case you haven't realized it yet, but I'm a McDonald's Junkie. It's my go-to comfort food ever since I was a child. Living in Cebu for a great deal of my younger years, and this was at a time when the most popular burger available was from a chain called "Orange Brutus" (don't ask), whenever my mom or dad would fly back to Cebu from Manila, a Big Mac was always the requested "Pasalubong".  Whenever they have a new product, I'm usually the first to know or hear about it.

This happened with The Big N' Tasty. Then The McRib. Then The McGriddles

Don't ask why or how, but it's like I have a sixth sense for all things pertaining to McDonald's.

Which is why I was rather taken aback when Rina called me up to ask if I wanted the new Smoky Cheeseburger while she was at the drive thru on her way home.

Of course I said, yes, but deep in my mind, I was shocked that this got past me.. But I ended up feeling loads better when I saw that it was only announced that day on Facebook as well, meaning I wasn't losing my touch hehe..

Nonetheless, I couldn't wait to try it so I could give you guys my thoughts on McDonald's newest offering!

OUR AWESOME EDSA SHANGRI-LA STAYCATION

I distinctly remember the first and only time I stayed the night in Edsa Shangri-la Hotel. This was , was in November of 2003. I remember the time frame so vividly, because my mom is/was a fan of the Boy Band F4, and someone tipped her off that the band would be staying in Edsa Shangri-la and so she made it her mission to make sure she gets a room there as well for the duration of the band's stay in the country.

I know this because I was the one tasked to relentlessly call Edsa Shangri-la's reservations office to get a room. As expected, the hotel was fully booked, with F4 fans from around South East Asia flying to Manila for a glimpse of their idols.

Truthfully. I couldn't care less about those four guys, but I was promised a breakfast buffet for 2 days if I secured a room, so I made that reservations officer's life a living hell for two weeks. I think she started hearing my voice in her dreams (and not in a good way), so she eventually found a couple of rooms for us.

Fast forward to present day. Through my blog, I have a great relationship with the Shangri-la group, including the Edsa Shangri-la Branch. I've been to several of their events, and they in fact, graciously offered to host the KTG Christmas Party last December. There was one particular time when we went to Heat for Lunch with Rain in tow, and my little girl got a glimpse of the hotel's swimming pool, particularly the Aqua Play Area.. And she lost her freakin' mind.

Rina and I had to promise that we would go play in the pool one day, just to pacify her. Someone up there must really love us, because a couple of weeks later, our friends at Edsa Shangri-la invited the Zamora Family over to their hotel for a short Staycation!

Parade of Singaporean Flavors at Seven Corners, Crowne Plaza ~Rina

Seven Corners

Crowne Plaza is very special to me and Richie because this is where we had our wedding reception. Ballroom B,C,D,E. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was a beautiful wedding! We stayed at the bridal suite that night, and I still remember the first thing I told Richie the morning after the wedding. I woke up at around 9AM, and I panicked and told Richie "WAKE UP MAGSASARA NA YUNG BREAKFAST BUFFET!!!" (Wake up the breakfast buffet's about to close!). And with that, we freshened up and rushed to the breakfast buffet in Seven Corners.

THE SECOND BITE: THE RISE OF ZARK'S BURGERS

For the second episode of the Pickiest Eater Bites, I revisit a favorite of many of my readers.. Zark's Burgers! Since I visited their first branch in 2011, Zark's Burgers has exploded into a Powerhouse Burger chain that can give the big name burger joints a run for their money!

From a small hole in the wall in Taft Avenue, Zark's Burgers now plans to have more than 20 outlets around the country by the end of 2016!

Here's a quick round up of some of the most insane burgers on their menu, as well as a chance to finally meet the man behind the madness.. Zark himself!

And by the way, yes, that is a burger wrapped in bacon and deep fried to perfection that i'm holding in the photo above.

Tokyo Tokyo’s Seafood Festival

Tokyo Tokyo Seafood Festival

As a Pickiest Eater, my plate is usually filled with either pork, beef, or chicken (and maybe after that, some more pork hehe), and occasionally some noodle dish. Whenever I hear “Seafood”, the first thing that comes to my mind is the old joke, “When I see food, I eat it!”. Admittedly, the scope of my seafood choices are limited to fish and the occasional Shrimp Tempura. But that’s just me. My wife on the other hand, get cravings for seafood every now and then, With Shrimp and salmon usually on the top of her list. I was stoked to find out that Tokyo Tokyo added more Seafood dishes to their menu, because that meant delicious seafood at affordable prices! Tokyo Tokyo always finds exciting new ways to innovate their menu, constantly keeping the menu fresh for their beloved customers.

Recently I got to try the new Tokyo Tokyo menu, and I was in for a pleasant surprise because the quality far beyond something you would expect from a fast food restaurant!

Presenting Tokyo Tokyo’s new Seafood Festival!

30 New Gastronomic Restaurants at SM City North EDSA!

SM City North EDSA

Being a resident of Pasig , for the past few years, I really don’t frequent SM North too often. I can’t even remember the last time I was there, so I was quite surprised to see the new areas, especially The Block. Seeing the place made me feel like I was a kid in a candy store, for the lack of a better analogy. New restaurants have sprouted one after the other, creating a utopia for food lovers everywhere! And I’m not talking about food stall type selections either. I’m talking about diverse selection of restaurants with international flavors that will satisfy every palate!

So in honor of SM Supermalls’ 30th Anniversary, we took a tour of some of their gastronomic dining options that consisted of Asian flavors, Filipino Feast, Savory treats, and and sweet desert places! This was the food crawl that that would make you believe there’s a heaven on Earth!
