PICKIEST EATER VLOG: A Japanese Feast at IZAKAYA SENSU

Given that I've never had a disappointing experience with The Raintree Group of Restaurants,  I was excited to try their new Japanese restaurant, Izakaya Sensu, which is located at Net Park at Bonifacio Global City.

Izakaya Sensu's menu features a wide range of Classic Japanese dishes, as well as some items that were innovated to keep up with the times, without losing its sense of tradition.

FIRING UP THE TEPPANYAKI TABLE AT YURAKUEN

Despite the distance from my place, I always look forward to dining at Diamond Hotel. Although I admittedly had only been to Corniche, I had heard the stories of their amazing Japanese restaurant, Yurakuen. For some reason, I was under the impression that the Japanese entrees of Corniche was basically what you would find at Yurakuen (Kinda makes sense since it's the same hotel, right?). Considering I was actually quite pleased with what I've tried at Corniche, I never really found an urgency to try Yurakuen.

However, my friend, The Hefty Foodie swore that wasn't the case, and when he had the opportunity to invite me to experience a dinner at Yurakuen's Teppanyaki table, there was no way I was going to say no to that!

KARAAGE KARAYZY!!: CHIBI'S KARAAGE AT SM LIGHT MALL

I will admit that my fondness for Japanese food is limited to most of their Deep fried or stir fried offerings. Much to the delight of my wife, I don't touch any of the raw stuff (meaning more for her), But I instead feast on popular dishes, such as Teriyaki, Katsu, Teppanyaki and Tempura.

I have a few staple dishes when ordering at a Japanese restaurant, and one of those is Chicken Karaage. Rina thinks it's a "cop out" because it's technically just "fried chicken", and not very Japanese-y, but what can I say, the heart stomach wants what it wants.

I had heard good things about Chibi's Kitchen down South from my blogger buddy Hefty Foodie, so I was elated to find out that an incarnate, "Chibi's Karaage", had opened a branch in the new SM Light Mall along Edsa, because it was more accessible to me when compared to Las Pinas and even SM North Edsa.

What makes the arrival of Chibi's Karaage so exciting, is that it takes a dish that is known for its simplicity, and finds a way to elevate it to new heights.
