GRAND HYATT MANILA: LUXURY REDEFINED

The Philippines may be a third world country and not without its many flaws, however I can say that I am rather proud with how many luxury hotel chains have the confidence to invest in us. I do believe though that it's the innate hospitality that is ingrained into us Filipinos that makes us such gracious hosts, which gives these Hotel Industry Titans faith in us.

Already dazzling the country with it's "City of Dreams" property, the Hyatt name continues to grow in the Philippines. Opening at the heart of Bonifacio Global City just a few months ago was the Grand Hyatt Manila, and it is redefining luxury hotels as we know it.

It won't take long for Grand Hyatt's opulence to leave your spellbound.  From the high ceilings to the sparkling fixtures, everything about the lobby screams sophistication and luxury, and is a precursor for what you should expect from this magnificent establishment.. The highest standards of quality and service.

THE GRAND KITCHEN

Let's face it, whenever I go to a hotel, the first thing on my mind is, "Where can I eat?". The flagship restaurant of Grand Hyatt Manila, is the Grand Kitchen, and I must say, I don't think you could find a more appropriate name than that.

The Grand Kitchen is exactly that. A series of kitchens situated in the center of the restaurants, preparing orders before your eyes, more than willing to take requests on food items that you would like to have customized.

HIGHLIGHT ENTREES

Some of the dishes that blew me away were the..

Mouthwatering medley of Skewers, ranging from Beef, Chicken and Pork..

Premium Beef Patty Burgers are served fresh off the grill!

I had mentioned that I always need Bacon in my burgers...

So you can imagine my shock when Chef Mark Hagan, the Executive Chef of Grand Hyatt Manila himself, served me a plate of freshly cooked bacon!

The selection of Flatbreads, including this delectable cream saused based one topped with bacon and Onions..

The plump shrimps from this fresh Shrimp Cocktail

The Pork Belly Roll that boasted of a crackling skin while maintaining a juicy meatiness.

The Beer Battered Fish and Chips and quite a delightful crunchiness to it.

There were Filipino dishes as well, with their boldly flavored Chicken Adobo a major standout.

We watched the Chefs whip up a fresh batch of Kung Pao Chicken!

The Chunks of Chicken were incredibly juicy, while that spicy sauce it was bathed in sure packed a nice punch of heat!

The Spare Ribs with Black Bean sauce was also excellent! That sauce over Fried Rice was a meal in itself!

The Hainanese Chicken was incredibly moist and flavorful, and perfectly paired with Ginger Sauce and Hoisin! Oh, don't forget to ask for Chicken Rice as well!

Desserts, as well must not be missed, with the Apple Pie with Vanilla Sauce quite exceptional..

And the Gooey Melt in your mouth Lava cake absolutely to die for!

THE CELLAR

If you're looking for a place to loosen up ver a few drinks and tapas, then The Cellar is exactly what you're looking for.

The relaxing ambiance of the Cellar is totally conducive to unwinding with an extensive selection of alcohol beverages, including wine, cocktails and even handcrafted beers.

Grand Hyatt Restaurant Manager Benjamin Schertzer took over one of The Cellar's Show Kitchens, to show us how to mix some cocktails.

Sorry I don't drink so I didn't bother to get the name of the cocktail he made hehe..

FACILITIES

The Swimming Pool of Grand Hyatt is absolutely spectacular. With several sun beds and even private cabanas available, This is a refreshing place to spend a scorching afternoon!

A state of the art Fitness Center is available for hotel guests, allowing them to work out a sweat and keep themselves in shape.

The Grand Hyatt also houses several ballrooms and function rooms for parties of different sizes. There were several events going on so we weren't permitted to take photos, but I assure you, they're all world class.

ACCOMODATIONS

The Grand King Room looked like an incredibly comfortable room to stay in. A little less than 50 sqm, the room is fully equipped with luxurious amenities such as flat screen TV, a sofa bed and walk in closet.

The Grand Double room offers a room with two twin beds, and even two separate water closets!

A dining table is situated just by the picture window and in front of the flat screen TV, making ordering room service a very tempting option.

THE LOUNGE

Our day winded down at The Lounge, unique, a multi-level dining area located at the lobby.

Thankfully, we were right in time for "High Tea" at The Lounge, so our experience began by choosing the premium TEALEAVES of your choice.

After we made our choice, the tea set was brought out, which included a menagerie of finger sandwiches and a selection of luscious pastries.

The selection of sandwiches were rather eclectic, including such choices as Smoked Salmon, Shrimp, Roast Beef, and Egg Salad.

While the selection of desserts were rich and decadent, the perfect companion to your refreshing tea.

Grand Hyatt Manila is a welcome addition to the country's thriving hotel industry. It's location at BGC makes it an ideal place to stay for tourists (Shopping is a few blocks away), as well as businessmen (BGC houses several high profile offices).

As a local, I also feel that it's an perfect place for a rewarding family staycation.. Especially since I know she's going to love the Swimming Pool!

A very special thank you to Ms. Melissa and Aleah for the wonderful day at Hyatt! I'm looking forward to visiting more often!
