A WEEKEND FIESTA AT MARCO POLO ORTIGAS' CUCINA!

I think I've mentioned quite a number of times that Marco Polo's Cucina is one of the finest hotel buffets out there in the metro today. Instead of dazzling you with a vast array dishes from a variety of stations, Cucina's selection is rather modest when compared to other hotel buffets, However, Cucina proves that it should always be more about quality, and not just quantity, because each dish that is carefully prepared by the outstanding culinary team of Executive Chef  Lluis Pesarrodona is of the highest standards of excellence.

After a successful Weekday Craze promo, Marco Polo has a little something special for the Weekend Warriors.. A Weekend Fiesta at Cucina!

WHO IS MR. COCHINILLO?

I have a thing for pork. I think I've made that clear in my four plus years as a blogger. Regardless of it's shape or form, Pork is something that simply works for me and my taste buds.

So imagine how I felt when I was invited to sample a couple of slow cooked roasted suckling pigs fresh out of the oven, at the home of a man that is taking the classic Cuchinillo to the next level.. Then not being able to go.

After missing the first event that left me no choice but to stare helplessly (not to mention enviously) at my friend's instagram pictures, I was determined to not let the next opportunity slip away.

A couple of days later, Nina, the event organizer, sent a message me, Spanky and Yedy.. The three bloggers that were absent that evening, inviting us to set a new schedule.

"Come hungry.",  her E-vite reminded, to which I replied, "Have no fear, "Hungry" is my default setting".

By day, he is Tinee De Guzman, the mild mannered food photographer.

But by night, he takes up the mantle of "Mr. Cochinillo", the newest name in delicious slow roasted, suckling pigs.

UNDER COVA NIGHTS.. TAPAS Y SANGRIAS

Convicted Pigophile

I don't know if you know this boring tidbit about me, but I'm a notorious introvert. There's absolutely no chance that you would see me at a bar or a super club in the evenings. Maybe it's because I don't drink. Call me corny and all that, but alcohol hurts my throat and no matter how hard I try, the darn stuff just won't go down.

When I was invited to go to Cova Tapas Y Sangrias, I had some slight apprehensions, because everyone I had asked about Cova, always replied, "You should try their Sangria!" or "They have a great selection of wines!". It was only when my buddy Spanky assured me that he wouldn't let the night pass without making sure our bellies were filled to the brim with delicious food that I realized that Cova was more than just a late night drinking spot.

Their Spanish food is pretty phenomenal too
