CRYSTAL JADE DINING IN: WEEKEND DIMSUM BUFFET!

We got a lot of drooling comments from this photo above. Truly, the Weekend Dim Sum Buffet of Crystal Jade Dining IN at Bonifacio High Street Central is sensational! And for the price of just P688++ with free flowing iced tea, how can you go wrong? Not to mention it is deeeee-licious!

Crystal Jade Dining IN is hard to miss when you get to Bonifacio High Streel Central. It's the first corner restaurant on the left.

I love the size of this restaurant. It's not to huge but ti's still got that wow factor with its high ceiling and classy atmposphere. But it's also not small because they have a couple of private function rooms on its second floor.

Booths by the windows
Crystal Jade Dining IN serves authentic Cantonese cuisine, unlike the branch in Greenhills (Crystal Jade Shanghai Delight). So a friend asked me xiao long baos are included in this weekend dim sum buffet. It's not, because xiao long baos are now Cantonese dim sum. A little trivia for you there!

Ordering is simple. Just order what you want from the waiter and that's it. In other unlimited dim sum places, they give you a card and then you check what you want which I think is fun but is a waste of paper hehe. Once you place your order, that's the only time the kitchen will start making your dim sum to ensure freshness. So every dim sum that comes out of the kitchen is freshly cooked, not pre-cooked ahead of time. This makes the dim sums even more delicious! Plus, they don't use MSG (contrary to the beliefs when it comes to Chinese cuisine)

"We do not compromise on our ingredients, or the manner of our food preparation. We believe that there are no short cuts to achieving premium quality, and we observe all possible measures to ensure that our dim sum, as with the rest of our dishes, are authentically Chinese and of the highest quality". - Mylene Lim, Chief Operating Officer

And here are my personal favorites!:

Ha Kau! Of course! It's been my favorite recently and I can think of a few places that serve good ha kaw. And this definitely made it to the top of my list!

And because I love ha kau, I also fell in love with this Steamed Rice Roll with Shrimp! It's like unsealed and un-balled up ha kau, but the kicker is the sauce!!!! Oh the sauce.... :-(  I still dream about it until this very day! It's like a sweet soy sauce! You must pour a lot of this secret sauce! Trust me!

No... put more!!!

Crystal Jade Dining IN also has Steamed Rice Roll with Scallops and Asparagus, and Steamed Rice Roll with Barbecue and Coriander. But the shrimp is still my favorite!

Behold!!! The Steamed Cream Custard Bun with Salted Egg Yolk! Sure they look like oranges but they're actually super soft and steamy buns with custard sweetness, and then once you bite into it....

.... a lava of warm salted egg yolk oozes out! It's actually sweet! But from the texture you can really tell it's salted egg yolk/ It's hard to describe. And I want to cry now for writing this at almost 9 in the evening :-(

These buns with pineapple helmets are Baked Bo Lo Barbecue Pork Buns! Aren't they beautiful?! And they're very good too! The buns are very soft, and the top is actually like a sugary top pineapple crust! (Bo Lo means pineapple).

And then inside lies the yummy and succulent barbecue pork. Oh my!

Next is their Steamed Pork Rib in Black Bean Sauce. This is also one of my favorite thing to order at any dim sum restaurant. I noticed their version is slightly redish and I'm not really sure why, but the important thing is it's delicious!!! So good to pair with a steaming cup of white rice! My favorite part is always the soupy part!

I always take siomai for granted because it's pretty common but this Steamed Pork and Shrimp Dumpling with Crab Roe "Siew Mai" is really good as well! Very tasty and  really stuffed with meat!

I didn't think I would like this Steamed Vegetarian Dumpling with Coriander but it's actually really very good! It's very tasty plus I love the way the veggies crunch! The coriander really gives a very appetizing flavor to it.

And last but not the least of my favorites, is the Baked Barbecue Pork Pastry with Sesame. This is something Richie can inhale in a few second. Barbecue pork... good! Pastry....good!!!

Other items on the menu that I didn't get to try because I was already so full are below...

Steamed Chicken Feet with Special Sauce

Deep-Fried Shrimp and Shredded Chicken Spring Roll

Steamed Glutinous Rice with Conpoy Wrapped in Lotus Leaf

Steamed Barbecue Pork Bun

Steamed Beancurd Skin Rolled with Shrimp and Minced Pork in Oyster Sauce

Steamed Shrimp and Spinach Dumpling

Deep Fried Shrimp and Mango Roll

Deep-Fried Yam Dumpling with Scallop, Minced Pork, and Mushroom

Deep-Fried Beancurd Skin Rolled with Shrimp

Baked Mini Egg Tart

Pan-Fried Carrot Cake with Dried Shrimp and Preserved Meat

Steamed Radish Cake

It's all so beautiful!!!

But with great ordering comes great responsibility because under the terms and conditions, it says no take out! So order only what you can eat hehe.

Crystal Jade Dining IN's Weekend Dim Sum Buffet is available on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), from 3pm to 5:30pm. And then for groups of 6 or more, you get Crystal Jade Special Noodles FREE! Awesome!!!

I am definitely looking forward to going back with Richie and Rain while we spend some serious family quality time over plates of yummy dim sum! After all, aside from good food, a bit of Q.T. is really what Crystal Jade is all for!
