MAIN STREET'S AWESOME NEW MENU

To me, Main Street Restaurant in Kapitoly has always been one of those restaurants to me that I go to when I'm not in the mood to explore new places. Every time I visit, I know i'm in for an amazing meal. I've always felt that the style Main Street's Head Chef Adam Tan really appeals to my personal palate, making me excited when I find out he has whipped up something new.

Chef Adam recently unveiled new items to Main Street's Menu, so I couldn't wait to troop to Kapitolyo to give it a try!

The first dish that was brought out to us, was the Cajun Spiced Prawn Salad (P280). I don't eat salads, but my companions were delighted at the sight of the plump Cajun Spiced Grilled Prawns topped over Mixed Greens, speckled with Orange bits and Sliced Tomatoes, then doused with Orange Tarragon Vinaigrette and White Wine Mustard Vinaigrette, then sprinkled with Parmesan Cheese.

Main Street has always blown me away with their versions of Poutine. And their Supreme Poutine (P290), took the Canadian comfort food to a whole new level. Strips of Cumin Spiced Flank Steak are laid over hand cut French Fried Potatoes, then slathered in a rich Cheese Sauce, Tomato Salsa, Spring Onions,  Shredded Lettuce, and a refreshing Cilantro Crema.

One of their new appetizers, is the Chicken Fingers (P200, add fries P65). With it's crunchy Panko Breaded Chicken Breast Strips paired with a luscious Honey Mustard dip, this is clearly going to be a kid's favorite (And big kids like me loved it too!).

NEW BURGERS!

One of the reasons I was excited to try the new menu of Main Street, was their new lineup of burgers, which all use USDA Ground Beef Patties!

The Classic Cheeseburger (P260) is a throwback to the diner style burgers of the good ole' days. The star of this dish is without a doubt, the freshly ground USDA Ground Patty which was seasoned perfectly, then complimented with classic fix-ins and condiments, such as Sliced Tomatoes, Grilled Onions, Cheddar Cheese, Ketchup, Mustard, and Pickles on a toasted Sesame Seed Bun.

The Caramelized and Bleu Burger (P290) was a delicious concoction, featuring a delicious Beef Patty topped with Arugula, Robust Bleu Cheese that is balanced by Caramelized Onions and Garlic Mayonnaise.

Whenever I am asked to build my own burger, it always usually looks like Main Street's Barbeque Burger (P300). A mouthwatering Beef patty is topped with Melted Cheddar Cheese, then topped with Applewood Smoked Bacon, a crunchy Fried Onion Ring, then slathered in a sweet and tangy BBQ Sauce.

The Double Bacon Burger (P310) felt like it was it was made for me in mind (with the exception of the tomatoes, of course).  Housemade Bacon Jam is piled on to a meaty Beef Patty and topped with delicious Applewood Smoked Bacon, Sliced Tomatoes, Arugula and melted Mozzarella Cheese.

Normally I avoid tomato based pasta dishes because of my hyper-acidity, but the Beef Shin Ragu (P360) was just too good to pass up. The magic begins with the Slow Braised Beef Shin, which was imbued with an uncanny flavor, and was cooked so beautifully, that it virtually melted in your mouth. The Tomato Sauce and sprinkling of Parmesan Cheese added even more vibrance, and the Linguine Noodles was cooked to absolute perfection.

I really couldn't get enough of Main Street's Barbeque Chicken Pizza (P300). From the flavorful BBQ Sauce, to the combination of Cheddar, Mozzarella, Red Onions, Cajun Rubbed Chicken, and Chopped Cilantro, everything worked together deliciously over the thin, crispy crust.

Seafood lovers would go nuts for the Tomato Braised Seafood Stew (P350). Made with a medley of Prawns, Mussels, Fish, bathed in a piquant Tomato Stew. It actually works well with bread, because you can dip it into the stew, or of course, a plate of steaming white rice.

One of the highlights of Main Street's new menu, is the Steak and Frites (P380). A beautifully cooked Kitayama Flank Steak, is topped with Garlic Butter, and laid over a bed of crispy hand cut French Fries. Not only was it amazing, but for the price? You'll be hard pressed to find a better bang for the buck deal in Metro Manila!

DESSERTS

You have several options for dessert, starting with the Blueberry Cheesecake (P190). This is a nice take on the Classic New York Style Cheesecake, whose light tartness is complimented by a succulent  Blueberry Compote.

One of my favorite desserts was the Apple Crumble (P200).  Thinly sliced Apples are roasted in a mixture of Butter, Honey, and Cinnamon, baked in a delicious crumbled crust for added texture, then topped with Graham Crackers, with a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream balancing the dish together.

The last dessert we tried, was the Fudge Brownie Ala Mode (P190). This was a gooey, moist, Chocolate Brownie, that is drizzled in a sweet Caramel Sauce and topped with Vanilla Ice Cream

The addition to Main's Street's roster of dishes amped up what was already an awesome menu! Chef Adam Tan keeps churning out creative, yet delicious dishes that doesn't stray from the comfort food that he promised when Main Street first opened its doors years ago.

Main Street is definitely one of the Highlights of the bustling Kapitolyo Food Scene!
