THE CORNER MARKET PODIUM: LITTLE KAYA

The sparkling new renovation of Podium Mall opened up opportunities for more shops and restaurants to settle into the bustling Ortigas center. Recently, a sprawling Food Hall opened, named, "The Corner Market". Spanning roughly around 1,200 square meters, The Corner Market is set to house 17 food establishments in its massive halls.

Though not all 17 are operational yet, your friendly neighborhood Pickiest Eater made the ultimate sacrifice for his beloved readers, to try the food stalls that have opened their doors at the Corner Market.. Where good food is just around the corner!

Korea's growing influence in the world has been highly evident in the way their culture has made an global impact. From their music, to their films, and most especially (for me) in their food. Kaya Restaurant has been in the country for many years, and has perhaps become one of the top of mind places to visit when looking for a Korean meal. It comes to no surprise that they decided to open up a stall in The Corner Market Food Hall, albeit a down-scaled version of their menu, to help more customers experience authentic Korean cuisine..

Check out a few of the dishes available at Little Kaya!

The Pajeon (P240) would be a great start to your menu. This delicious Korean Pancake, is made with Squid, Shrimp and Vegetables, and is surprisingly filling!

It's hard to visit a Korean restaurant without ordering Bibimbap. And At little Kaya, the Bulgogi Dolsot Bibimbap (P270) is one of their most popular dishes. A medley of Vegetables, Egg, and Beef Bulgogi are laid over a bowl of steaming rice in a Stone Bowl.

When you mix everything up into the hot stone bowl, you're for a delicious treat!

I always look for Japchae when dining at a Korean restaurant, and I was elated to found out that Little Kaya's version of Japchae (P240) is absolutely delicious. Springy Sweet Potato Noodles are sauteed w thin strips of seasoned Beef, Black Mushrooms and a variety of Vegetables. It had the right balance of soy and gentle sweetness that I look for in my Japchae, and the beef gave it an uncanny savoriness.

The Kaya name has been satisfying Pinoy customers for many years, and you wouldn't expect so many of your Korean Favorites in just one small stall. However, Little Kaya continues the tradition of excellence that it's big brother is known for, and is more than capable of fulfilling you Korean food cravings when dining at The Corner Market Food Hall.
