LECHON LOVE EPISODE ONE: THE LECHON SHOP B Y LEONARDO'S LECHON

I've started a series where in I try as many Lechons as I can, including products such as Porchetta or Lechon Belly Rolls!

My first stop is the Lechon Shop in Quezon City, which is a spin off of the popular Leonardo's Lechon!

In the heart of the Scout Area of Quezon City, The Lechon Shop also offers several lechon spinoffs, such as Lechon Sisig, Lechon Adobo Flakes and Dinuguan.. The cozy, unassuming restaurant is definitely a gastronomic gem in QC!

THE ENCHANTING STORIES BY LILYPAD

Finding places to eat in Quezon City is often bittersweet for me.. Mainly because I used to live in the Area, and back then, the dining choices were few and far between. I was pleasantly surprised to discover a charming restaurant along Times Street, whose laid back ambiance combined with delicious food makes it a wonderful place to dine in at Quezon City.. 2 LAZCANO PLACE: BENTO & CO

As I mentioned in my previous about about Two Lazcano Place, the QC Food hub houses several restaurants, and I had the pleasure of sampling a few during my visit. Much like the popular "Ketchup Food Community" in Baguio, the Two Lazcano complex allows cross ordering from all the restaurants, giving you a diverse selection to choose from, ranging from Japanese Food, American Food, Mouth-watering Pastries and of course, home grown Filipino food.

The next establishment that offered me a taste of their wares, was Bento & Co., a charming little restaurant that serves Japanese food, including delicious, yet affordable bento meals.

SM NORTH EDSA EATS: DOHTONBORI

In the rare times that I find myself at SM North Edsa, I'm always on the look out for new restaurants that I can try. Yet there was one time I dropped by the Super Mall in the North, and found ourselves once again in a familiar restaurant, unable to resist the lure of their delicious food, particularly their Okonomiyaki.

Yes, I found myself at Dohtonbori once again. And I regret NOTHING.

CHILLING OUT AT SNOWBING SM NORTH EDSA

Not only has Korea spread it's music and television dramas to a fever pitch here in the Philippines, even their food has captivated our taste buds. The Bingsu in particular, has become so popular, that its virtually impossible to go to a mall and not find a restaurant or stand that specializes on Korea's beloved shaved ice treat!

The newest name to watch out for in Bingsu has got to be Snowbing! My food friends and I dropped by SM North Edsa on a scorching Saturday to cool down over some delicious, Korean frozen treats!

When you're out for dinner with a woman as beautiful as Max Collins, you hope that your date will never end. That's exactly how Sef Cadayona felt after our meal at Mario's, so he asked me where I thought he could take his lovely co-star next!

BURGER COMPANY CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL BURGER DAY!

Last week, during the successful Zomato Restaurant Summit, I bumped into the dynamic duo of the Burger Boss the The Striker aka Alvin and Francis of Burger Company, wherein they invited me back to their restaurant to try some of their new Burgers from their successful international line, which they were going to launch on May 28, in time for International Burger Day, which happens to also be Alvin's Birthday!

As you may have noticed from the (in)frequency of my blog posts, I've been incredibly busy these past few weeks, but  I managed to find time to visit after a long morning meeting!I had no intention of missing out this mouthwatering parade of Burgers from one of the fastest rising Burger places in the metro!

HANGING OUT AT BACKYARD KITCHEN + BREW

I said I wasn't going to post anymore until 2015 but I just couldn't wait any longer to share with you my experience at one of the metro's newest restaurants..

I'm going to say this the manliest way possible. I think Chef Edward Bugia is my (Soulmate) brother from another mother (Fistbump). I'm talking about the man behind Pino. The very same person who conceptualized The Burger Project. The man that brought Breakfast & Pies into our lives. Yeah, that dude.

His dishes often seem as if it were culinarily (is that even a word?) engineered to exactly suit my taste buds.

However, Chef Ed's newest restaurant, Backyard Kitchen and Brew, is his take on the whole Farm to Table Concept, but at the same time, he shows us what it would be like to have a relaxed BBQ at his place.

Chef Ed Bugia whipping us some rustic, down home country dishes?

    Count me in!

Do you like taking pictures of your food and posting it on your social media accounts?? Sure you do! It's the digital age! Everyone does it! Now, wouldn't it be awesome if the restaurant you're dining at gave you a discount, simply by posting your food shots on Instagram? HELL YEAH!

Well guess what? For their anniversary, Burger Company is giving away a 20% Discount to customers that share their food shots with their friends in their social media sites! This is happening only on August 8-10!

One of my favorite discoveries of last year, I returned to Burger Company recently to taste some of their new creations!

LIVESTOCK: MAY THE PORK BE WITH YOU.. ALWAYS

Romeo and Juliet. Cleopatra and Marc Antony. Guy and Pip. Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas/Tayor Lautner/John Mayer/Jake Gyllenhaal/Harry Styles. The Pickiest Eater and The World and Pork. Some of the greatest love affairs that the world has ever seen.

I love pork. LOVE. I love pork more than Kanye West loves Kanye West. Which is why whenever a restaurant that specializes in Pork dishes pops up, it is immediately on my radar.

From the moment I heard about the recently opened restaurant called "Livestock", I kept bugging Rina about making time to visit. Finally the day came in which I could no longer deny myself of the delights of this Porky Paradise.

And what I discovered was a close to carnivore's "Heaven on Earth" as you can get!

RED BARON RIBS AND STEAKS: FLYING HIGH IN QUEZON CITY

When Rina and I began this blog, our intention was to be able to help smaller, "hole-in-the-wall" restaurants, as well as other stand out purveyors we find at Food Markets get the word out on their products. Since we began, I'm happy to see some restaurants that I discovered in my early blogging days, such as Mama Lou's and Mad Mark's, expand their business to more high profile locations. From humble food stalls in Mercato Centrale, businesses such as Dulcelin and Chuck's Grub now have actual sit down outlets, giving them a chance to further flex their culinary muscles to the public. And let's not forget Manang's Fried Chicken.. which has turned itself into a Fast Food giant in such a short span of time.

Though my mission statement was clear, something happened along the way. For whatever reason, our blog began getting noticed by the big restaurants and hotels. And since I am a man of modest means caring for a wife and daughter, we decided to make the most of this invitations. But once in awhile, Rina and I talk about going back to our roots and look for hole in the wall restaurants again, but my backlog and schedule just wouldn't permit it.

When I got an invite to try Red Baron Ribs and Steaks, I felt this could be a great opportunity to discover yet another Hole-In-The-Wall restaurant that I know you guys love!

BURGER HEAVEN AT THE BRGR PROJECT

BRGR Project Makati

Everyone knows Richie, the Pickiest Eater, is a burger person. But I can't say the same for myself. I have moods for burgers. I'm more of a rice person. That's why I have very few favorite burger places. And I am sincere when I say Burger Project is one of them. Why? Because you get to design your own burger! It's another brilliant concept by Chef Ed Bugia, one of my favorite chefs!

8 CUTS:THE BURGASM CONTINUES!

If you've been reading my blog for awhile, then you probably know my affinity for burgers. In a country filled with rice meals, I often find myself on the lookout for the most delicious beef patty (sometimes two or three) slapped between two soft buns. I'm always intrigued when a new burger shop pops up and it becomes imperative for me to try it.

When I found out that Burger Bar came up with a "little brother" called "8 Cuts", there was no question in my mind that I had to pay U.P. Town Center a visit once more. Given the pedigree of the Moment Group, I was convinced that 8 Cuts would be nothing short of awesome.

And I love it when I'm right.
